This whole thing reminds me of a story I heard from Peter Gammons in my early days at ESPN. Don Baylor was a coach for the Brewers at the time. He took aside a hitter who hit much worse in daytime games than night games. Don told him, “This tells me you’re out partying too late.” Rather than dealing with stadium shadows or wind currents during the day, Don got right to the heart of the matter.
